Digital Media

This section explores the creative and educational potential of digital media within the contemporary visual arts classroom. Through practical media projects and a digitally integrated Unit of Learning, it examines how tools such as Canva, InShot, photography, stop-motion, and digital collage can support creativity, visual literacy, reflection, and student engagement. Grounded in media literacy and contemporary visual culture, this work reflects my interest in using digital technologies to support creative expression, critical thinking, and inclusive learning in Art and Design education.

Digital Media in Education

This project explored the creative and educational potential of digital media within the art classroom through a series of practical workshops and multimedia tasks. Across five weeks, I developed skills in digital storytelling, video editing, stop-motion animation, poster design, and visual communication using applications such as InShot, Canva, Stop Motion Studio, and ScreenPal.

These activities highlighted how accessible digital tools can support creativity, reflection, collaboration, and student engagement within contemporary Art and Design education. Developing skills across multiple digital media platforms has strengthened my confidence in integrating digital technologies into the classroom to enhance students’ digital literacy, creative expression, critical thinking, and engagement with contemporary visual culture.

ICT in Education: Creative Digital Media Practice

This project explores how digital technologies can support creative, student-centred learning within the contemporary visual arts classroom. Through the development of the unit Veiled Identity: Symbolism Through Flora, I examined how digital media tools such as Canva, InShot, Microsoft Teams, and iPads can enhance teaching, learning, assessment, and media literacy in Art and Design education.

Grounded in the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu), the project reflects on how digital technologies can support visual literacy, identity exploration, collaboration, reflection, and creative expression. By integrating photography, digital collage, video editing, and reflective multimedia tasks, the unit demonstrates how contemporary digital practices can foster student engagement, critical thinking, and independent learning while supporting students in navigating visual culture and digital media critically and creatively.
